Does it violate the Mississippi Constitution and ethics laws
of the State of Mississippi for two current members of the Board Supervisors
who are also employees of the Tunica County School District to consistently
vote on County issues that impact the School District? Who is their allegiance to?

Great point - that opinion addresses being employed by the School District and is limited to the tax levy. What about voting to withhold money from the School and voting to engage in litigation with the School? Is that okay? What about voting to allow the School to use the County's facilities and voting to engage in other programs? The law directs the tax levy, but not the other.
ReplyDeleteanother good point... going to the ethics commission website and doing an opinion search of "supervisors" is an interesting read..
